Easing Complications & Promoting Fertility

Endometriosis is a medical condition where tissue that is similar to the lining of the uterus, called endometrium, grows outside the uterus. This tissue can be found on various pelvic organs, such as the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and the outer surface of the uterus. Endometriosis is often the cause of unexplained fertility issues, and diagnosis is determined via a laparoscopy.

Effects of Endometriosis

  • Endometriosis can cause fertility difficulties that prevent pregnancy. At the Fertility Wellness Institute, we can help treat your endometriosis and improve your chances of pregnancy.

Some signs of Endometriosis include the following:

    • Pelvic Pain: Pain before and during menstruation is a common symptom. The pain can be intense and may also occur during or after sexual intercourse.
    • Menstrual Irregularities: Women with endometriosis may experience irregular menstrual cycles.
    • Painful Bowel Movements or Urination: Endometriosis can cause pain during bowel movements or urination, particularly during menstruation.

    Treatment Options

Treatment options for endometriosis depend on the stage of endometriosis (stage I-IV), patient signs and symptoms, as well as patient desires. Treatment options range from medical management with medications to slow the progression of endometriosis and assist in alleviating discomfort to surgical management to remove endometriosis by laser, excision, or electrocautery during laparoscopy.
