Dr. Chin,

It’s been a while since I sent you a picture of Jared. I can’t believe he’ll be 4 years old. Michael and I haven’t had any luck having a 2nd baby. My insurance hopefully will change soon and I’ll be back to see you. Thanks again for everything you’ve done for us; Jared is such a blessing.

Dear Dr. Chin and your wonderful staff,

When my husband and I decided that we wanted to start a family, the thought never crossed our mind that getting pregnant was going to be difficult. About a month after our wedding, I was quite surprised to discover that I was pregnant. Sadly, the day after we found out, I miscarried. I have never felt such a deep level of sadness and loss. All I could think about was getting pregnant again as soon as possible. My OB/GYN started me on Clomid and I begin charting my temperature. After a few exhausting months of this, we were referred to Dr. Chin. At first I was angry that nature just wasn’t working for us the way it should, but as soon as we met Dr. Chin, my anger quickly vanished.

I could go on for days about how kind, compassionate, gentle and knowledgeable Dr. Chin is. His staff is just as amazing and loving. From our first appointment I knew we were in good hands. After doing a few tests we started IUI. When the first three attempts failed, Dr. Chin suggested doing a laparoscopy to find out why IUI wasn’t working. He found that I had some scar tissue that was attached to my fallopian tubes, which he was able to free on one side. The next month we did a round of Pergonal and then IUI.

Right after I knew something was different with my body. I anxiously counted the sixteen days until my blood test. Later that afternoon, while I was taking a nap Dr. Chin called to say “Congratulations!”. Not fully awake yet, I asked him what he meant and he told me I was pregnant. I was so stunned I just sat there until I thought I’d better tell my husband and the whole world! After being with Dr. Chin through my 10th week I was released. Our son, Samuel Cole, was born on October 23, 2004 and weighed 9 lbs. 10 ounces and was 22 ¼ inches long.

I still take Samuel to visit Dr. Chin and his girls often. It doesn’t feel like I’m in a doctor’s office, but like I’m visiting some really good friends. We will be forever grateful to Dr. Chin and his staff for helping us realize our dreams of family.

Wanted to send you a big Thank You for everything you all have done for us. We truly appreciate all of the support and kindness you have given Clay and I. On December 10, 2004, Austin and Aiden were born 5 weeks early at 5 lbs. 12 oz. and 7 lbs. 3 oz.! (Yes, they were the talk of the maternity floor!)

Thanks again,
